Refunds and cancellations
This page explains when you can get your money back for event tickets, court bookings and memberships bought on RIVALZ. It forms part of our terms.
The short version
- Change of mind: you can get a full refund if you ask more than 5 days before the event or booking starts. Within 5 days, tickets and bookings can’t be refunded.
- If it’s cancelled by the organiser or the club: you always get a full refund, automatically, to the card you paid with.
- Memberships: cancel any time, and you keep the benefits until the end of the month you’ve paid for.
Event tickets
To cancel a ticket for a change of mind, email noah@rivalz.ie more than 5 days (120 hours) before the event starts, with your name, the event and the email you signed in with. We’ll refund the full amount you paid, including the booking fee, and your place goes back on sale.
Within 5 days of the start, tickets can’t be refunded, because it’s too late for the organiser to resell your place. You’re welcome to give your place to a friend: tell us their name and we’ll update the guest list.
Events sold by a club on RIVALZ follow the same rule. Contact us or the club, and we’ll arrange the refund with them.
Court bookings
When you book a court, it’s held for 30 minutes while everyone pays their share. If the court isn’t fully paid in that time, the booking is released and everyone who paid is refunded automatically and in full.
Once a booking is confirmed, you can cancel it for a full refund by emailing us more than 5 days before the start time. Within 5 days the booking can’t be refunded. Cancelling a confirmed booking refunds all four players, so agree it with the rest of your group first.
If something is cancelled on you
If we, a club or an organiser cancels an event or booking, or a court or venue becomes unavailable, you get a full refund, including any booking fee, whatever the timing. Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually arrive within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.
We aren’t responsible for travel or other costs you’ve had in connection with a cancelled event, unless the law says otherwise.
Weather and no-shows
Outdoor events may go ahead in rain. If an organiser decides conditions are unsafe, the event is cancelled and refunded as above. If you don’t turn up to an event or booking, it isn’t refunded.
RIVALZ Player and RIVALZ Club memberships
Memberships renew monthly until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the Membership page (or the For clubs page for the Club plan). Cancelling stops future payments, and your benefits last until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
Your 14-day right to cancel: if you cancel within 14 days of first joining, you can ask for a refund of your first payment. Because the membership starts straight away when you ask it to, we’ll deduct a fair amount for the days you’ve already used. After those 14 days, payments already made aren’t refunded.
Your rights under the law
Event tickets and court bookings are leisure services for a specific date, so the usual 14-day “cooling-off” period for online purchases doesn’t apply to them. Nothing on this page affects your other rights under Irish and EU consumer law, for example if a service isn’t provided as described.
