Terms of use
These terms apply when you use RIVALZ, on the website or in the app. By creating an account or paying for anything on RIVALZ, you agree to them. Please read them together with our refund policy and privacy policy.
1. Who we are
RIVALZ is run by Noah Ryan, a sole trader trading as RIVALZ, based in Ireland. Contact: noah@rivalz.ie. In these terms, “we” and “us” means RIVALZ, and “you” means anyone using it.
2. What RIVALZ does
- We run our own padel, football and social events and sell tickets for them.
- Clubs use RIVALZ to sell court bookings and tickets for their own events. When you book a club’s court or buy a ticket for a club’s event, the club provides that service to you, and RIVALZ takes the payment on the club’s behalf through Stripe.
- Players can log match results and keep padel and football levels, fair-play ratings and head-to-head records.
3. Your account
You must be at least 16 to create an account. Use your real name, so other players and organisers know who you are. You’re responsible for your account and for keeping access to your email, because that’s how you sign in. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
4. Payments and fees
- All payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Prices are shown in euro (or sterling for clubs in Northern Ireland) before you pay.
- A booking fee of €0.75 is added to each paid event ticket and each court share, unless you’re a RIVALZ Player member. The fee is shown at checkout.
- For club bookings and club events, the money for the court or ticket is paid to the club, and RIVALZ keeps the booking fee.
- When you book a court, the four players each pay their own share, and the court is held for 30 minutes while you do. If it isn’t fully paid in time, it’s released and anyone who paid is refunded in full.
5. Refunds
Tickets and bookings can be refunded if you cancel more than 5 days before the start, and are always refunded if the event or booking is cancelled on you. The full rules are in our refund policy.
6. Memberships
RIVALZ Player (€9.99 a month) and RIVALZ Club (€49.99 a month) are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel. A club’s first RIVALZ Club plan starts with a free month: nothing is charged until it ends, and if you cancel before then you pay nothing. You can cancel any time, and the membership stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before any price change, and you can cancel before it applies. Member benefits are described on the Membership page and may change over time.
Invite rewards. Each player has a personal invite link. When two people who signed up with your link start a RIVALZ Player membership, you get 20% off for 30 days, and another 30 days for every two more. The discount applies to what RIVALZ itself sells: tickets for RIVALZ-run events, RIVALZ booking fees, your next RIVALZ Player payment (or your first, if you join while it’s running) and the RIVALZ shop. It doesn’t apply to events, leagues or courts sold by clubs. Friends count once each, must be new accounts, and the membership must actually start. We may withdraw rewards earned through fake or duplicate accounts. Rewards have no cash value.
7. Taking part in events and matches
Padel and football are physical sports with a risk of injury. Take part only if you’re fit to, warm up, use suitable footwear and follow the venue’s rules and the organiser’s instructions. Clubs and venues are responsible for their facilities. Organisers can refuse entry to anyone acting unsafely or abusively, without a refund.
Where an event has a level range, it’s a guide to help games stay close. Please book events that suit your level.
8. Levels, results and ratings
Levels are estimates worked out from the results players log. They aren’t official rankings. Only log results for matches that really happened, with the right players and scores. Rate opponents honestly and fairly. We may correct or remove results or ratings that look false or abusive, and suspend accounts that misuse them.
9. Behaving fairly
Don’t use RIVALZ to harass anyone, post offensive content, impersonate others, resell tickets for profit, or interfere with the service or other people’s accounts. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we do, you’ll still get any refunds you’re entitled to.
10. Clubs on RIVALZ
- Club owners must be authorised to act for the club. We confirm this before giving access.
- Clubs receive payments through a Stripe Connect account and must accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement. Stripe decides when payouts are made.
- Clubs are responsible for the courts, events and prices they list, for honouring bookings and tickets sold through RIVALZ, for keeping those courts off their other booking systems to avoid double bookings, and for their own tax.
- Clubs must follow our refund policy for anything sold through RIVALZ. Refunds are taken back from the club’s share of the payment.
- The RIVALZ Club plan can be cancelled at any time and ends at the end of the paid month. Bookings and tickets already sold must still be honoured or refunded.
11. Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep RIVALZ running and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We’re responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We’re not responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, for business losses, or for a club’s or venue’s own services and facilities.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as RIVALZ grows. We’ll show the date at the top, and tell you by email or in the app about any important change. The terms in force when you made a purchase apply to that purchase.
13. Law and complaints
These terms are governed by Irish law, and the Irish courts can deal with any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the EU, you can also rely on your local consumer law. If you have a complaint, email noah@rivalz.ie and we’ll try to sort it out quickly.
